A Brief History:
In 1835 Queen Victoria commissioned Doulton to produce a water filter for the Royal Household as cholera & typhoid epidemics were commonplace.
Her beloved Prince Albert had died of typhoid. The Queen was so delighted with his result that in 1901 Henry Doulton was knighted and his company
honoured by authorising it to use the word 'Royal' in reference to its products. Doulton Ceramics are now used in 150 countries.
Doulton ceramics are made from Kieselguhr Diatomaceous Earth and fired to above 1000C. Over 80,000 overlapping pores make up each element.
This feature provides absolute mechanical fltration to 0.9 of a micron. 99.99% rejection of bateria & cysts.
Bacteria and any foreign particles are trapped on the outside of the filter while the water passes through the ceramic wall to the inside of the element.

Facts:
To wash a Doulton Ceramic filter, simply scrub it clean with water using a scouring pad similar to 3M Scotchbrite.
Doulton ceramics are self sterilizing . The entire ceramic wall is impregnated with oligodynamic silver.
Silver has been long proven as a disinfectant which ensures that bacteria trapped in the ceramic's pores are killed thereby
eliminating any threat of bacteria colonization.
To maintain peak filtration performance, we suggest you replace your filters every year.
